Summer is the perfect time to put on your creative hat and try out a few DIY projects. From building a reclaimed wood table to crafting cute accessories, there are always projects you can take on to pass the time. Here is a list of some of the most popular and fun projects to complete during you summer vacation.

1. Create a Driftwood Jewelry Holder

Driftwood is a huge trend right now, along with minimalist interior and exterior decorating. This is an easy and creative way to bring the outdoors in and is completely on trend.

2. Decorate a Flower Pot

You probably did this in your kindergarden classroom, but it is a fun and almost therapeutic craft. Instead of painting a smilie face on the pot, grab some tape and paint interesting line designs, geometic patterns, etc. Making your flower pots chic and modern is easier than it looks!

3. Tie Dye T-Shirt Headbands

T-shirt headbands have been a Pinterest craft stable since the website was launched, but you can elevate that simple craft by combining it with another classic: tie dye. When I think summer crafts I think of tie dye and what a perfect way to bring two fun projects together.

4. Sharpie on a Rock

This is so simple and you have complete creative control over what you want to do with each rock. Add these to a shelf for decoration, put them in a mini succulent terrarium, line your front porch with them. These little creative rocks are a great and multipurpose craft.

5. Craft a Fresh Flower Crown

Flower crowns are great in the summer, but fresh ones are even better. Go buy some flowers, or even better, pick your own and follow along with a tutorial. All of your friends will be jealous of the perfect, fresh flowers on your head.

6. DIY Frozen Treats

I am a sucker for popsicles in the summer, but I don't like all of the added sugar. DIY your own and you can decide what you want to put into each one. Make dozens of batches with different flavors so that way you never get bored of having the same type of popsicle all summer.

7. Build a Tipi or an Upscale Fort

This is a trend that has been growing in popularity for kids, but who says you can't build one for yourself? If the tipi proves to be too challenging, grab some sheets and build yourself a DIY tent to hangout in. Build it indoors or out and spend your summer nights relaxing inside it.

8. Design a Macrame Plant Hanger

Macrame is always coming in and out of popularity, but it is here to stay this summer. Hang up your plants with these cool designs and show of your skills to all of your friends who come over.

9. Build a Teacup Bird Feeder

Bird feeders and summer just go together like peanut butter and jelly. Glue a teacup and sauer together to give the little birdies that fly around your yard a place to feast.

10. Make Yard Scrabble and Other DIY Lawn Games

Lawn games are the best and making your own makes them even more enjoyable. You get to customize the game to your liking and you can even make giant versions of your favorite board games, like scrabble. Most are ridiculously easy to make and cost a fraction of the price if you were to buy them from the store.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
