Enjoy trips to the beach and days shopping at the nearest outlet stores. Enjoy long drives with the windows down and music blaring, and enjoy the what seems like thousands of trips to the ice cream stand. Splurge on a new bathing suit and sunglasses. Summer is arguably the best time of the year, so get out and enjoy it. But remember, you only live once. Challenge yourself to try something new.

1. Road trip with your friends to ride a new roller coaster

Are you a thrill seeker? Take a trip with your most adventurous pals to try out a new roller coaster or one you've been dying to ride. Who's going to 'chicken out'? Who's brave enough to strap in? Go find out!

2. Hike a mountain or trail much steeper or longer than anything you’ve conquered before

Challenge yourself this summer. Break down any physical boundaries and explore. Hiking is one of the best ways to free your mind, be adventurous, and explore. Why not give it a go?

3. Shut your phone off for a day or two

"Take the phone off the hook and disappear for a while." - Billy Joel

4. Pick up an old hobby

What was your favorite thing to do as a kid? What made you stop? Consider picking your favorite past time back up again. It may be just as fun as you remember it being.

5. Visit a museum

This one's simple. Drive to your nearest city or do some research and find a smaller, local museum. Explore and appreciate what you find.

6. Geocaching

Channel your inner pirate and have fun with a mini treasure hunt. Google geocaching in your area and bike over to the park to get started.

7. Visit a flea or farmers market

What's better than a bargain and fresh fruit?

8. Write letters to long-distance friends

While you're feeling disconnected with your phone off, think of a different way to connect with the friends you're missing. I'll be sure to send my college friends a postcard from my little suburban town.

9. Learn how to do something new

Jump out of your comfort zone and try something new. Surfing, knitting, skateboarding, yoga, rock climbing, rollerblading. Your options are endless!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
