8 Songs To Listen To That Help Start Your Fire For Studying For Any Subject
Rock and Roll is My Addiction

I know it can be hard to focus when you're studying, especially if the topic that you're studying is immensely boring. Sure, you can always take study breaks, but why not kill two birds with one stone (not literally though, I don't advocate killing birds with stones) and listen to some educational music? Here I have compiled a complete list of subjects you may be studying and the appropriate song to listen to for each one.

1. History - "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel

Starting in 1949 with "Harry Truman" and ending in 1989 with "rock 'n roll cola wars", Billy Joel sings through some of the world's most fascinating and controversial watershed events. Perfect for anyone that needs to memorize historical dates in chronological order!

2. Music - "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel

The song has a pretty catchy tune that I'm sure all you music majors out there can analyze the heck out of. Plus! You can pinpoint exactly which instruments and time signature are being used!

3. Video Production - "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel

To be fair, this one might require watching the music video as well, but just look at those crisp scene-cuts!

4. Theater - "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel

This one also requires watching the video, but the quick set changes and representation of every decade over the course of 40 years is admirable. Plus, Billy jams out on a table whilst sat in front of a giant fire (that I am assuming he did not start).

5. English - "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel

This song is essentially a lyrical and poetic masterpiece for the ages and speaking from experience, it's kinda fun to use it to recount other events! (I rewrote it for my boyfriend once for our 1 year anniversary to chronicle our adventures thus far. Yeah, I'm cute like that.)

6. Environmental Science - "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel

"Only YOU can prevent forrest fires!" Although I guess, technically, we didn't start it either... And it was always burning since the world's been turning... Oh well, we tried, but it was a good run!

7. Modern Language - "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel

For a fun activity, why not try translating the chorus?

8. Philosophy - "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel

But when we are gone... will it really still burn on? ("And on? And on? And on? And on..?")

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
