Sometimes, your bedroom or your residence hall's lounge is just too distracting. What's weird is that in this case, distracting can be anything. The fact that it's too quiet, too comfortable, or even too perfect for a place to study or do homework is what makes it distracting. I thought that my room was the best place to get stuff done, but it turns out I was too gullible.
It's okay to go somewhere else to finish your work. The hard thing to understand is that your room is not a sanctuary. However, this is good! By going out and finding new places on campus, you'll find a spot with just the right amount of elements to help you. What's crazy is that the more places you find, the more of a niche they become.
Here at Temple, I've found a lot of different spots. But they're not all for one purpose -- some help me read, others help me finish essays, and some are for when I'm drowning in work and need to finish everything.
Every student is unique. They are the answer to a very complicated equation.
Personality + Major + Interests + Comfortability + Academics + Stress Levels x = YOU
And by looking at this really intense and mathematical equation, everyone will get a different answer. No answer is right... which means that no answer is wrong. By showing you this, I've proved that the spots you find can all be different and help you just the same.
Below are some of my favorite spots at Temple!
