10 Study Hot Spots Around College Station To Get You Through Finals

As finals approach, everyone seems to be crowding campus. Campus seems super packed, not enough parking spaces, but where else is there to go? I'll drop some of some sweet spots I've found on my search for study spaces. I'll try not to give the most basic ones.

1. Blue Baker

So a lot of the times, you go to school without your laptop or phone fully charged. Well let me tell you, not only does Blue have coffee but they have lots of outlets AND booths for you to sit in! Everything you need and more. Lots of the time, it's super empty, so even better if you want somewhere quiet to study.

2. POV

This coffee shop is out of the way, yes, but it has a nice view of a lake and right next to the Stella Hotel. Their London fogs are also on my list of top 5 best London Fogs in Cstat. Just a btw, they close around 5pm

3. Minuti Coffee

This is one of my most recent finds. Not only do they have some tasty coffee, but it's rarely packed. It's aesthetically pleasing and the music they play is spot on. Just a heads up, not too many outlets for chargers.

4. Tipsy Bean

No, this is not the bar, that's the Tipsy Turtle. This sweet hot spot is nice if you're planning on studying alone. I don't recommend a big group going to study here just because it's a tight fit.

5. Gogh Gogh Coffee Shop

Granted they close rather early and don't have lots of tables, it's a good place to study one-on-one with someone.

6. The Brew Coffeehouse

This place has lots of study space, super good coffee, and close rather late for a coffee shop!

7. Coffee Shop inĀ  A&M Hotel

I know this is on campus BUT it's rarely full AND there are lots of outlets available. Not many people know about it, but it's not a bad spot if you park in the garage.

8. Annex 2nd & 6th Floor

These are hidden gems. Not many people think about studying on these floors. But there is such an open floor space and there are white boards available, so it's perfect for group studying.

9. West Campus Library

As odd as it sounds, this is typically a super nice spot to study, especially during those late night study sessions. Even if you're studying alone, first floor is rather quite and second floor is great for group studying. Get out of Evans! aka get out of your comfort zone!

10. Student Computing Center

Located right in front of the commons, this is a perfect place if you want to seclude yourself in a cubicle with a provided PC. It's rather quiet for the most part. It's walking distance from Evans Starbucks, available printer to print notes, and open 24/7.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast ā€œBirthdayā€ on anyoneā€™s birthday. I knew all of the words to ā€œBack In The U.S.S.Rā€ by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. Iā€™m not someone to ā€œfangirlā€ but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
