Lately I have really been into poems by Rupi Kaur. She writes very real and inspiring poems often relating to women. Her writing has had a real impact on my life. So I decided to write my own poem inspired by her and International Women’s Day.
Strong Women
You are stronger than you think,
You have the ability to change
not only yourself but the world.
You’re beautiful,
you all are.
But you’re also so much more than that.
With all that intelligence and perseverance,
you are the future leaders of our world.
Your body is even more sacred than a temple,
perhaps something that can also grow back,
because you will recover from any pain and hate you must endure.
But remember,
you are strong.
You can overcome this.
You will be okay.
Better than okay.
