Lately, I've been in the mood for some serious adventure. But when you live in the city as a broke college student, it's kind of hard to acquire such a thing. Or is it?

I recently joined a "Rocky Horror Picture Show" shadow cast called Terrible Thrills, and I have met some of the most amazing people doing so. I never felt like I fit into any other group as well as I do with this one. This story involves only three of those people: Julia, Camryn, and Vivian.

Vivian, our director, used to live in Memphis, TN, where she performed in a shadow cast, as well. I'm not sure what exactly happened, but Vivian was needed as a last minute fill in for her old shadow cast back home. Me, Julia, and Camryn joked about going surprise her at her show for a while until we were all like, "Hey, no but seriously, let's go."

So we did.

Julia booked the Airbnb, Camryn provided us with her car (until we had to switch to Julia's — longer story), and I paid all my dues and packed my bags to hop into the backseat.

After 5 and a half hours, a few panicky moments, a weird gas station encounter, meeting our coolest little Airbnb host, and buying pumpkins, sharpies, a card, and three bags of rice at WalMart, we finally made it to the show.

I can speak for all three of us that we surprised the heck out of Vivian. (SHE CRIED)

The show was amazing, and we had a late night / really early morning breakfast at a tiny 24-hour diner across the street from the theater.

The next day, me, Julia, and Camryn spent the day visiting Elvis's house and touring Beale Street. The following day, we hiked in the woods of this huge park that I can't remember the name of before making our way back to Baton Rouge.

Looking back, this trip looks like it would be on some kind of cheesy movies. Three friends traveling the country to surprise a fourth one. Doing cute little activities together afterward. And honestly, it sort of felt like it, too.

Moral of the story is this: We are always talking about the "What Ifs" in life. What if I tell him/her how I feel. What if I don't. What if I apply to this job. What if I make that investment. What if I take this trip to Tennessee. Instead of wondering, do it. It might make some of the fondest memories.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
