Today's Movie Writers Can't Seem To Grow An Imagination, They Just Keep Copying Old Movies, And I Am So Over It

Watching movies and tv shows have always been a great way to pass the time. It can also be a time to hang out with family or friends. You can enjoy a good movie within the comfort of your home, or you can decide to go out with a few friends and see a movie in theaters. Either way, you still have a great time as long as the movie is good. I suppose you can have a great time talking about how bad a movie is too.

In today's world, movies are easily accessible thanks to companies like Netflix and Hulu. However, a common theme I am seeing with movies and tv shows is that they lack individualism and creativity. No matter what production company is creating a film, it is hard to miss the fact that most films are missing individuality.

Within the last few years, there have been so many reboots or remakes of old classic movies or shows. These remakes and reboots tend to ruin the old classics, but people still go to see them in the hope that they are as great as the original. Most of the time they do not rise to the standards of the original movie or show. There is a reason that those movies and shows were so loved when they first came out. They were new and interesting. Now, the movie industry wants to either put a darker twist to it or remake them because they can't think of any new ideas.

I am tired of seeing, yet again, another version of an older movie. The filmmakers, writers, etc. get paid so much money when they make a film, you would think they could at least come up with a creative plotline. Now, I'm not saying they haven't come up with innovative movie ideas recently, but they seem rather sparse. Another common theme to find with movies and a tv show nowadays is that they take a book and make that into a movie. There's nothing wrong with that necessarily, but to me, it can be rather tiring to see that, once again, a book is being made into a movie. I am the type of person that believes the books are also better compared to the movie.

Taking a book and turning it into a movie seems like an easy move for the film industry because they don't have to come up with a new idea. They already have the whole story written out. I just think that these high paid screenwriters, producers, directors, etc. should be able to have an original thought when it comes to a new plot. These people have talent, that is why they are in the business in the first place. People don't want to keep seeing the same things over and over again; especially if it just continues to ruin the classics.

Some will argue that there is better technology that can be used to recreate an old movie and make it better. This is nice in theory, but most of the time the audience would rather just leave the classics alone. There are some movies that are great to watch simply because the CGI was terrible. I just think that you shouldn't mess with other creations. They need to start having their own. All in all, I am just disappointed that most of the things seen on tv are simply remakes of old classics when there is so much potential for much more.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
