This week is the first full week of November, and if you walk into any store, there are Christmas decorations everywhere you look. Even before Halloween, there were Christmas decorations slowly creeping into stores. Christmas used to begin on Black Friday, but in recent years, it’s made it way to November 1.
1. Let Thanksgiving have its own Month
November is the when fall is in full swing, all of the trees are beautiful colors, the air is cool and crisp, and the warm scents of apple pie and pumpkin is filling the air. Thanksgiving is the holiday that begins all of the family events, parties, and parades. Thanksgiving allows for a relaxing day with friends and family without the stress of Christmas, so why create stress before it’s needed?
2. Winter doesn’t begin until December 21
Christmas is a Winter Holiday, it occurs on December 25, four days after winter begins. There is no need for it to start decorating and getting ready for the holiday in the middle of fall. Christmas starting on November 1, also drags out the season and by the time Christmas actually rolls around, everyone is already tired of it and want to rush through it.
3. ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas hasn’t begun
Although Hallmark starts playing Christmas movies in October, the classic movies on ABC Family don’t start until December. Until the classics are being played on TV, it’s not Christmas time. The 25 Days of Christmas has been a staple in getting into the Christmas spirit for years, and until ABC Family begins playing those movies, Christmas should not be pushed onto everyone.
