Stop Idolizing The Building And Become The Church, Itself

Recently I've seen so many criticisms towards churches. It's weird & concerning. I believe though it's exposing a flawed understanding of the four walls vs. the people.

Due to health regulations and state mandates some churches were forced to close in order to not be a hub where this virus could live and continue to spread. Others had the option to open their doors and didn't. Some had the option to open them and did. Regardless, that is not a faith problem or a lack thereof. It's wisdom.

I assume, that all pastors would make the best decision based on using God's guidance, wisdom, and common sense. So whatever the decision there is no wrong one if these factors were at play.

But I think more importantly beyond that is I really believe God is TIRED of being confined to a building. He redesigned the meaning of church in every way. He made us creative, made us think outside the box, made us think of new ways to deliver the gospel to all people... everywhere. He brought the gospel into homes, where they should've been along. He brought worship intimately and he made his teaching ubiquitous. Like it was always intended.

If you were dependent on a 2-hour service to be your "church" then you were just attending church and not being the church. It is a lifestyle! Don't hear me wrong though, there is something that is unmatched when believers come together and praise. There is no substitute for the gathering of the saints. Being connected, invested, and involved in your local church is one of the best ways to remain accountable and advance your relationship with Christ. What I am saying that God isn't depending on a two-hour service, he wants you to move in the miraculous on a daily. He wasn't built to stay within four walls. He wasn't created to stay in the temple and- with such intention, he didn't create you that way either.

I think that it is so vital to speak with clarity, conciseness, and with the intent to uplift during these times. If you're looking for the church, look in the mirror. If you're looking for the building, I'll send you an address. If you're desperate for revival, so is the world and let me shock you real quick... it happens outside the four walls. Your brothers and sisters you meet every Sunday, hug and kiss and greet that is the CHURCH. So the church is never closed unless your heart is. Everything that could be an idol is taken away... don't make the building one. To me, he's saying.. Do I have your attention now?

& the answer is yes God, you do.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
