Stop Hating On Tomi Lahren

Disclaimer: I'm not writing this to try and sway you to like Tomi. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. However, don't attack me because I may share some of her videos. This is just me explaining why I do, so no hate intended.

It was around this time last year TV host, Tomi Lahren, went viral for a rant about President Obama and Islamic extremism (video here). A little background, Ms. Lahren is a television host, political commentator, as well as a declared conservative. Every week, Tomi can be seen on The Blaze, updating her viewers on her opinions about current events. If you aren't sure what a political commentator (pundit) does, here is a quick definition from brought to you by Google:

A pundit is a person who offers to mass media his or her opinion or commentary on a particular subject area...on which he or she is knowledgeable...or considered a scholar in said area.

Just in case you missed it, do you see that word, right between "her" and "commentary?" It says opinion, which is clearly what Tomi's videos are all about. The job of a political commentator is to express opinions on subjects that they are considered to have a vast amount of "knowledge" on, which Tomi does.

I know what all my Tomi haters are thinking, "she has no knowledge, do you see how she talks." Well I'm sorry, but just because people may not like her delivery, does not mean that Tomi does not know what she is talking about (just look at her past experience).

Not only does she have a pretty incredible resume for only being 24, she also is a phenomenal public speaker. I know that people accuse her of "screaming," but seriously give me a break. She clearly knows how to grab peoples attention since so many people who don't like her STILL watch her videos.

Now I'm not saying that because Tomi knows a lot of facts means you have to agree or support what she is saying. Things are happening around the world all the time, and Tomi hand picks what she wants to talk about. The things that she says and the topics she discusses may not be for you (especially if you aren't a conservative). Well don't fret friends, because if you don't like her you don't have to watch her.

By no means do I agree with everything she says. I mean I was definitely not as bent out of shape as the rest of the world when she "attacked" Beyonce; however some of her stuff I just don't agree with, thats okay. I watch Tomi because her videos are filled with content that I find informative and important. When I don't agree with everything she says, I just look up some key things she talks about, and I form my own opinion (we all have Google guys).

Do I share her videos sometimes yes. Do I get slack from my friends when I do it yes. The funny thing is the videos i have shared have absolutely nothing to do with politics at all. So, a message to Tomi haters, tone it down a few notches. Tomi has taken off on the Intenet, and a TON of people watch her videos. She gets people engaged and interested in politcs, and thats all that should matter at the end of the day. If you care about politics and current events so much as to hate Tomi with a passion, you should also secretly love her for lighting a fire under those who used to not care at all.

Just saying, you are only stressing yourself out with that much hate. Move on, watch someone else, go outside, literally do anything else.

And those are my final thoughts.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
