Stop Complaining About Being Single In Your 20's

Cheers to the good years.

I'm only 21 years old, so I know I haven't truly experienced a lot of my twenties yet. But, what I do know from these past 2 years in this decade is that way too many people complain about not being in a relationship. Seriously? Why? Why would you want to give up your independence or your time right now?

Your twenties are not for anyone else except you. They're not for prioritizing someone who might not be there when you wake up tomorrow, or someone who can leave whenever they feel like it.

Your twenties are not for heartbreak. They're not for disappointment or sadness. They're not for spending nights alone in your bed while your friends go out. They're not for crying only when you're in the shower because you're ashamed that you're not over him yet.

Your twenties are for you. Your twenties are for finding yourself, finding friends and finding a career path you want to continue on for the rest of your life. They're for working your ass off from sun up to sun down to make enough money to get yourself by.

Your twenties are for driving overnight to the beach just to catch the sunrise. They're for spending your extra money on tequila shots and plane tickets, not Christmas gifts and dinner dates.

Your twenties are for visiting home for the holidays. They're for baking with your mom and watching football with your dad. Not for making small talk while introducing your parents to the newest "one".

Your twenties are for freedom and laughter. They're for long nights out and hung over mornings with friends. Your twenties are for making mistakes, regretting them for a little while and then getting over them. You're not going to be any younger than you are today. Cherish your twenties, because before you know it, you'll be 30 begging to get these years back.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
