Vibrant Colors
Weston Sharpensteen
Good is good.
Bad is bad.
So why can the standards be doubled
When a different color causes the same trouble?
When it comes to the logic of the King,
You’d think everyone would wear that ring.
But tensions still burn,
And we still have much to learn.
With the vibrant colors that brighten our world,
There come barriers that want to eliminate the colorful swirl.
To blame the guilty for their mistakes,
That needs to be done.
So stop blaming groups and look at the facts,
Because the stereotypes that linger are anything but fun.
It’s time we look at the people as people.
Loving each other should not be infeasible.
It’s time for our saturation to shine.
It’s time to cut down the separating lines.
When I see the falling leaves of November,
I cannot help but to remember.
That leaves are just like men and women,
Vibrant colors blowing in the same wind.
