San Diego has so much to offer especially when it comes to everyone’s favorite hobby: eating. Although you can get great food anywhere, the unique restaurants, located everywhere throughout the city, are one of a kind and are definitely worth checking out. This is only a small list of the hundreds of places that are crucial to try.
1. Girard DeliLocated on Girard Street in La Jolla, this place definitely deserves to get a whole street named after it. The food is always fresh and tastes as good as it looks. They have pre-made dishes, like pastas and salads, which are amazing, but I’m a big supporter of their sandwiches. They make everything right then and they are more than generous with the ingredients; their sandwiches are actually bigger than my face. Along with the great food, the workers are super nice. They’re really friendly and have been known to throw in free cookies with your purchase.
2. Bang Bang
Although there are a million
places to get sushi in San Diego, this place has by far the most unique
style. They have a really upbeat vibe
and sometimes they have performances from up-and-coming artists. However the main attraction is the bathroom
dedicated to Ryan Gosling. This super
creepy, yet surprisingly awesome room lures in tons of people every day because
I can guarantee there is no other restaurant that has something similar. Although the décor brings in a majority of
its business, Bang Bang has an awesome menu and great food as well.
3. Olive
Located right by Mission Bay,
Olive is the best breakfast place to get tons of food for a small price. They have a great menu, but their scrambles
are absolutely a necessary purchase. If
you’re a brunch person, I would definitely suggest trying this place out. It’s a really cute café in a great location
and the delicious food may or may not solve all the problems in your life.
4. Donut Bar
Located in downtown San Diego,
this place has every donut you can think of. You don’t even have to be super into donuts to like this place because
you can get almost anything on your donut.
The types of donuts range from Nutella crème brûlée, to red velvet, to
peanut butter and jelly. They even have
themed donuts if you’re feeling festive. This place brings in so much business because, even if you don’t really
like donuts, it would be wrong to turn down any opportunity to get a Nutella
cronut, which is a croissant donut.
5. Alexander’s
This could quite possibly be
the best Italian food you will ever have. Everything on the menu is amazing so there are no wrong choices. All the pasta dishes are life changing and
the gigantic pizzas are worth the food coma. Although this place is a little pricy, it’s worth every penny. The food is awesome and the restaurant décor
is really pretty, especially at night. If you’re feeling fancy and starving, this is definitely the place to
go.
The list of amazing restaurants goes on and on and I’m sure I could name tons of other places that will change your life forever. San Diego has some of the best food out there, but its unique restaurants really make it one of the coolest cities there is.
