If you’re like me and have spent many Spring Breaks asleep at home on the couch, you know the feeling when it’s the Sunday before returning to school and you realize you did nothing all week. You've seen all the pictures of people climbing mountains and being lazy on a beach, and although they looked like they were having fun, at least you're well rested. Here are some ideas to make sure your stay-cation Spring Break is one for the books.

1. Sit outside and read a book

Grab a towel, a hammock, a chair, whatever! Soak up the sunshine and get lost in a story.

2. Get brunch

Honestly y'all. What is better than brunch with friends?

3. Go to that cute coffee shop you've seen all over Instagram

Get some coffee, a snack, and don't forget to take a bunch of cute pictures!

4. Enjoy the flowers

Spring is here and I love seeing the flowers pop up everywhere. Take a drive or go for a walk, and enjoy the flowers while they are here!

5. Learn calligraphy

One of my favorite things right now is all of the calligraphy people have been posting on Instagram and Pinterest. It's so easy to learn and can be used all over!

6. Go to the movies

It's so hard to find time to go see a new movie during the school week. Go check out that new flick you've been dying to see!

7. Take a road trip

You don't have to go far to check out a new place. Grab some family or friends and go check out a new place nearby.

8. Bake a cake

Or make that recipe you've been saving for so long but haven't gotten around to.

9. Workout

Or take a fun trendy workout class.

10. Write notes

To your coworkers, friends, siblings, whoever! They'll really appreciate the thought.

11. Have a spa day

It's been a long semester so far. You deserve it.

12. Binge your favorite Netflix show

Personally, I'll be finishing Hart of Dixie.

13. Volunteer!

You'll feel so great after, and those you help will be so appreciative.

14. Pet some dogs

Go to Petsmart or any place they sell dogs and have fun.

15. Go stargazing

If you're from the city like me, you might have to drive a few miles out to really see some stars, but I promise you it's so worth it. Download the app Puniverse for even more fun!

16. Take a walk or a hike

The weather is so nice this time of year. Get your outdoorsy on, and get some fresh air.

17. Go to a concert

Even if you don't know the artist, it's always fun to go and hear live music.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
