Stranger Things is the newest Netflix sensation. The new series plays on 80s sci-fi and horror, but adds a somewhat modern twist. The cast features a wide array of characters, from the cop with a dark, haunting memory; to the group of quirky middle school boys set on solving the mystery; and the mother whose love for her son will drive her to the ends of the earth. This show is a never-ending mystery, and will keep you watching with its wild mysteries. Even somebody who's not a fan of horror can find a way to get into Stranger Things.

1. It feels just like a movie from the 1980s

If modern horror and sci-fi just aren't your thing, this is the show for you. From the music, to the looks, it all feels like 1983 sci-fi/horror, but the quality is a little better.

2. It constantly references Dungeons and Dragons

From the very beginning, the show is referencing the game. Characters play it, refer to the game for clues, and use it as a way to guide themselves in this constantly twisting mystery. It's a fun, nerdy thing to look for in the show.

3. It's full of movie references too

You'll watch this show and constantly think, "Wow, this is very [enter '80s movie here]." The quirky kids will remind you of The Goonies or Stand By Me, and the creepy, crawly creature of the show will give off some Alien or Predator vibes. All the throw backs to classic movies adds the perfect amount of nostalgia

4. It doesn't just follow one or two people's stories

Instead of focusing on a couple people each episode, the show looks at how one incident has affected everybody. It follows each character on their journey to solve the mystery, and not a single person is forgotten in an episode.

5. It's only eight episodes long

Being under ten episodes long makes this a great show for weekend binge-watching. The episodes run about 45 minutes long, so it doesn't take too terribly long to watch the show. It's perfect for getting a taste of Stranger Things, and what is to come.

6. It gets serious

It gets real sometimes. A mother loses her child, a girl copes with a traumatic past, and the show even gives a glimpse at how peers can view a girl's relationship with guys. It has its scary moments, its happy moments, and definitely its down moments.

7. New faces in the cast

Usually shows and movies feature the same people we've seen before, but Netflix is so good about adding fresh faces. Aside from a few familiar people in the older half of the cast, almost everybody is new and going on to do great things.

8. Stephen King likes it

If the master of horror thinks something is good, then it probably is! King has made a few tweets about how he's enjoyed the show and its characters. This point alone should be enough to convince you to watch it.

9. Steve Harrington

Steve is your avarage popular kid. He's described as such from the first episode, and even displays it in his childish behavior. As the season progresses you'll grow to love the little snot, though. Also, he kind of looks like 80s Jean-Ralphio Saperstein from Parks and Recreation, and I love that.

10. It has a little something for everybody

It has a good mix of science fiction and horror, an amazing soundtrack, and a great set of characters. Everyone can relate to or understand at least one character, but in the end, you'll love them all.

11. Netflix has never let you down

Netflix has been fantastic at creating original, captivating shows that anyone can love. Stranger Things is no different. In only one season, it's been able to prove its worth and have people asking for more.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
