Warning: Spoilers may happen here!
As some of you know, I am a nerd. I love "World of Warcraft," video games and most importantly "Star Wars." Judge me all you want, I enjoy it so I will proudly admit it. And no, I don't know everything there is to know about the things I nerd out on, but I still love it. I am going to give my review of the new "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" movie. I might spoil some stuff for those of you who haven't seen it yet, but you can't get mad if I do because I gave you fair warning.
I went to the first screening of the movie with my significant other and his friend. Yes, I had my concerns because Disney took over the movie, but I was incredibly impressed with the movie in its entirety. I saw the 3D version and was thankful that I did. I definitely would recommend the 3D over the 2D just because you will get the full experience. The theatre was absolutely packed, but we all had really good seats. There were no screaming kids either. I had never been to such a big premiere like this, so I was a little thrown off by the clapping and cheering. I joined right in though. I was so excited to be there.
Disney didn't totally make this a children's movie, though. Which, I was thankful for because it just wouldn't have been right if they had done that. The characters made very witty and funny comments, which was fine, I was just thankful the whole movie was "cute for the kids." The CGI effects were on point throughout the film. The movie was actually a lot darker than I was expecting, but I liked that part about it. For
instance, and this is a spoiler, when Ben Solo (or better known as Kylo
Ren) kills his beloved father Han I was not expecting that. I cried so
much during this movie, but I mean... who wouldn't? Han Solo just died
and Chewy is now heartbroken!
The dark power Kylo Ren has is definitely something new, but it's totally awesome! Ren can now control the weak minded and he can also see into their thoughts. It also puts them in a lot of pain, which I just adore. If you haven't been able to tell, I'm more or less a modern day Sith so I'm totally for the Dark Side. I may love Han and Chewy, but that's because you just have to love those characters.
There's also several little Easter Eggs to be noticed, so you really need to pay attention. For those who don't know what that means... it's like little hidden images or hints to previous movies or stuff to foreshadow. A lot of those usually mean something from the comics or books too.
If you haven't seen the movie, go see the movie. It's definitely one for the generations to see and love. As Kylo Ren would say, "I will finish, what you have started." May the force be with you all!
