I recently learned that "How I Met Your Mother" is being taken off Netflix in November. I'm sorry if you didn't know and I am the bearer of bad news. Netflix put a tiny little message in the top left corner saying the show will be available until November 13. At first, I was like "Nah that's not happening" and then I saw the message again so I looked it up. Immediately, panic set in because I am only on season 7 and there are 9 seasons! So that means I have approximately 3-4 weeks to finish the last 3 seasons. Aka I will be watching excessive amounts of tv in the next few weeks to finish the series in time.

These stages of grief accurately describe how you feel when your favorite or current series is removed from Netflix:

1. When you first see the "This show will be available until November 13th" message and you ignore it

2. You see the message every time you open Netflix and you laugh it off because you'd die if they removed the show before you finish it

3. When your friend texts you asking if you've heard your show is being removed

4. Googling it and finding all the other shows and movies being removed and cry to yourself

5. You're in denial and think that you can finish it in time

6. You calculate how long every episode is and how many hours of tv you need to watch a day in order to finish it on time

7. You realize you have to drop out of school in order to watch that much tv

8. Panic sets in and you chug an ungodly amount of coffee so you can stay up all night to binge watch an entire season

9. You get really mad at Netflix for doing this to you and angrily tweet about it (as you continue to watch the show)

10. You go into a state of depression because you realize you won't be able to finish the show on time

11. You accept that you won't finish it on time and look into other ways to finish the show

12. But then you realize how expensive a DVD of the season is

13. You once again drink an ungodly amount of coffee to try to binge the rest of the season

14. You start looking for what to watch next after Netflix rips your heart out

15. You skip classes to watch as many episodes as possible the day before it is removed

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
