You tell yourself you won't scratch it, but you end up scratching it anyway.

Summer is a glorious time when we get to go outside and enjoy the splendor of nature.

It's also the time when we face one of nature's most pesky little villains: mosquitoes.

Here are the 11 stages we all go through when those little Draculas decide to strike.

You hear the buzzing.

That familiar sound can only mean one thing.

You try to stop the mosquito.

So you end up hitting yourself.

You cry because you hit yourself too hard.

You gag at the blood on yourself from squashing the mosquito.

You realize that you were too late.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.
