Ah, spring. College students love it. Going outside is no longer a chore, and the sunny days definitely are a mood-booster.
At Temple, the campus is transformed when it gets warmer. Here are 7 tell-tale signs that it's spring at Temple University.
1. The line at Jamba Juice is out the door.
Jamba Juice usually isn't too crowded in the winter. I crave smoothies from time to time, so I tend to go no matter the weather. As soon as it warms up, though, you can bet there's a line out the door and you'll be dying of thirst by the time you get to the front of the line.
2. Beury Beach actually becomes a beach.
Those of you who don't go to Temple might be wondering what the heck Beury Beach is. It's grass. Yes, grass. But when it warms up, people start laying on it. I've tanned on it before. It's a thing.
3. Dogs, dogs, and more dogs.
This is my favorite part of spring at Temple; no matter what, you'll always see dogs. They look so happy and free. I can't resist petting them. To be honest, there's usually a circle of people waiting to pet them too.
4. Your lecture hall is suddenly empty.
When it's warm out, people just skip class. I get jealous of these people because I can't afford to skip class. I promise you I'd take a walk outside over sitting in a lecture hall any day.
5. More iced coffee.
Heather DeSalvo
I'm the type of girl that drinks iced coffee no matter the weather, but when it gets warmer you bet I'll go to Richie's and drink at least three a day.
6. Almost getting hit in the head with a football on J&H lawn.
I saw a tweet a while ago that said when it gets warmer outside, colleges turn into the set of Zoey 101 and I couldn't agree more. People hang out on Beury Beach and play sports. Be sure to dodge out of the way if you're rushing to class!
7. It gets cold the next day.
Those of you who go to college in the north will understand this. We thought spring was here, but it turns out it isn't. It's cold again, and we're suffering again.
Don't even get me started on the wind tunnels near Morgan.
