1. You'll see people floating down the Pemi...even if it's 50 degrees out.
Plymouth State students aren't scared of a little cold. Not to mention that 50 - 60 degrees is essentially summer in Plymouth. We've all taken that initial step into the cold Pemi water to get into a tube and enjoy the float.
2. Everyone will be asking you if you're going to Secret Beach, EVERY night of the weekend.
"Are you going out tonight?" changes quickly to "Secret Beach tonight?" when Spring rolls around at Plymouth. Because who doesn't love sitting around a big bonfire surrounded by good friends and some guy playing a guitar? And there will always be that drunk girl who tries to go skinny dipping. A word of advice, don't let her.
3. People will actually ask you if you want to skip your class during the week to go to Secret Beach.
There's something painful about watching students in beach attire and towels over their shoulders heading down to the beach as you walk to Rounds for that two and a half hour class that you now regret taking. Another word of advice, don't skip class to go to Secret Beach.
4. You will have to watch out for the frisbees, footballs and baseballs that are flying around as you walk past Mary Lyon Lawn.
If someone yells "DUCK", you should definitely duck.
5. There's always one person tightrope walking between trees on the Mary Lyon Lawn.
Sit back and watch the show. And give it a try if you're feeling ambitious!
6. The events on campus are WAY more fun than usual.
Spring means the annual Chili Cook-Off, the PRIDE Drag Show, Common Ground's Earth Jam, Battle of the Bands, and of course, Spring Fling.
7. You'll be listening this year's Spring Fling artist on Spotify for all of April.
Regardless of what genre of music you like and what artist comes to perform at Spring Fling, it's the most popular and exciting event of the year. In 2009, Gym Class Heroes came, followed by Drake in 2010, Wiz Khalifa in 2011 and Mac Miller in 2012. This year's band is New Politics, so it's time to update your playlist!
8. Everyone seems so much happier.
We just finished trudging through snow everyday to get to classes for what seemed to be an endless winter. Warmer weather brings a lot of smiling faces and chipper moods. Bring on the sun!
