Let's face it, at the end of spring semester life is crazy. Finals are in full swing, you're preparing to say goodbye to college friends for the summer, and on top of that, you have to start packing up. Don't be that kid who waits for the last possible second to start packing their room for the summer.

Save yourself, your roommates, your family, your dog a hassle by following these 12 simple move-out tips for a guaranteed successful, stress-free move-out.

1. Make a plan.

Write out what all needs to get done for your move out. Storage unit or no? Cleaning? Donations? What to sell? What and when to pack? What/how to organize?

2. Start packing up things that you do not NEED a month in advanced.

You do not need your winter clothes, your 500 books, your endless supply of pens, note books, and so on.

3. Two weeks before move-out start packing up half your wardrobe.

This is a good tip for those with large wardrobes. Break down your wardrobe and pack up what you will not need within the last two weeks of school.

4. If you can, do not move everything out at once, make mini trips to your summer residence/storage unit throughout the last month of the semester.

Lessen the load by making mini trips home throughout the month. It will save you time that last day of school.

5. Sell unwanted or unused items to lessen the load of packing.

Who would not want to make a few bucks? You can sell textbooks, clothing, tv's, mini fridges, things you will no longer need, etc...

6. Use reusable containers instead of cardboard boxes.

This helps keep things from getting destroyed from the elements during the summer. You can also fit more items in these boxes and easily pack your car with them as well. Pro tip: put masking tape across the lid & label! Peel off once unpacked.

7. Organize your things while you pack.

Do not just throw things together because they all fit together. You will hate yourself while you unpack because you will be searching endlessly for things in random places.

8. Clean out your pantry.

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
