Often, there's a lot of sympathy right before finals in the fall and spring. But the most forgotten time is this cruel time the weeks before Spring Break.
1. It's cold and all you can think about is the time off.
Sure, maybe in the semester terms, you can get excited about the upcoming warm weather. But right now, it's February, and there's no warm weather anytime soon.
2. Professors don't care about all your other classes.
As opposed to finals, where professors are completely aware of your insanity because of your many other tests, professors don't care about this time of year where you may just happen to have three papers and three tests in one week. And you still have class.
3. Again, you still have class!
And you have to care about participation points and keeping up with the reading. Just give me time to study, please.
4. Every one of your weekends is thought of as the "pre-test" weekend, not a fun weekend.
Though finals aren't fun because it's all within one week, at least the agony is over with afterward. But not with midterms -- it's just week after week.
5. This may be the first test you've had in the class.
Finals are so much more of a comprehensive, and well, final way of being in that class. But when you have a midterm and it's the first test you've taken, you have no idea what to expect.
6. Spring break is a highly anticipated break, much more than fall break.
During the fall, you have a shortfall break and Thanksgiving and it doesn't seem as long. But those weeks before spring break are just painful.
7. And you know you'll still have finals...
Why all the tests?!
