The Spring Break Experience As Told By Spring Breakers
Tumblr

As March approaches its final close, most college students are getting back into the swing of academia after experiencing a well deserved break from school. Spring break has come and gone but before we get back to the books, let's take a moment and look back on the memories.

Spring break is a huge deal to college students. Every March, some lucky college kids swarm to Florida, Southern beaches, or other tropical getaways to tan, party, and explore.

I feel like most spring breaks are similar for college students. While the location changes, I think most of the experiences are alike. You tan, eat, go out, have an awesome time and sneak in a few hours of sleep in between. With some help from Harmony Korinne and his film "Spring Breakers," I've compiled a list of things that most likely occur during Spring Break.

1. Pre-Spring break: Saving up

Spring break isn't cheap. I mean come on, we're college kids, McDonalds isn't even cheap sometimes. With that being said, a lot of saving and planing goes into organizing a Spring break away from home. (Disclaimer, unlike "Spring Breakers," I did not rob a restaurant).

2. Pre-Spring break: Counting Down the seconds in class before break

If you're anything like me, the excitement you felt before class most likely got trumped by your professor lecturing for 70 minuets on the paper she just assigned, conveniently due right after break.

3. Reuniting with your best friends in an awesome place

Few things are better than meeting up with your friends for Spring break. This can be true for those of us who also stay home during break-- seeing your friends is almost as nice as not worrying about school for an entire week.

4. Going out

Going out and Spring break are like a two for one combo. You don't spend all the money to fly to an amazing, new place with your best friends and decide to stay in. While the "Spring Breakers" girls went to outdoor concert for the rapper Alien (aka James Franco in some serious braids), my friends and I went to some of the coolest places in Savannah.

4. Having to find someone/or something that lost its way from the group

Whether its your phone, car keys, or friend who always seems MIA, something gets lost on Spring break.

5. Making great memories

When you're with your best friends this is just an inevitability

6. Realizing all the work you put off when Spring Break is Over.

Regardless of where you went or what you did this Spring break, I hope it was full of great memories. With that being said, I must provide a disclaimer: virtually no one's Spring break can be as eventful as Harmony Korinne's "Spring Breakers" (Spoilers ahead). I mean, I didn't hold up a restaurant, get arrested, or find myself part of a drug cartel in Florida.

If you're looking for a movie with your favorite Disney princesses, James Franco sporting a grill, and a homage to Britney Spears, I highly suggest "Spring Breakers;"Spring break forever, bitches.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
