It's that time of the semester where spring break is quickly approaching. You've got your friends, you have ordered your new bathing suits, and you have your destination, but here are some helpful tips to get you through this adventurous week. This is your Spring Break Survival Guide.
Things to bring:
Of course, you're going to remember to bring your beach towel and those cute new outfits you ordered last week, but if you are like me, you're going to forget some important items. It's okay, it happens to the best of us. Here are a few last minute things you may want to bring on this year's adventure: GoPro camera, hammock, sunblock, water bottle, hand sanitizer, Advil, flask, fanny pack, portable charger, and a LifeProof phone case.
Stick with your friends.
While this tip might be an obvious one, it is always important to keep in mind. Being in an unknown area while under the influence can lead to some bad situations. Make sure to always travel with your friends, even if you're just walking from the beach to a food cart. This is especially handy when you are traveling with your guy friends. Guys love to make sure that their girlfriends are safe, so use that to your advantage particularly at night.
If your hotel/condo has a kitchen, use it.
Paying for three meals a day can get really expensive really quick. If you have the option of making some of your meals in a kitchen during your stay, it could save you some cash.
But, don't stay cooped up in your hotel.
A lot of people really want to relax on spring break, but don't forget to adventure outside of your hotel complex. There is so much to experience, especially if you're venturing out to a place you've never been.
Do not bring your entire wardrobe.
I know that your mom has told you this on every single family vacation, but (like always) mom is always right. You are going to want to bring back trinkets and memorabilia from your spring break destination, so don't forget to leave room for those items.
Plan ahead (at least a little).
Create a vague itinerary for the trip that includes the top things you want to do and see in the area. This will also help you with what you need to pack for the trip, and help you avoid over packing.
Stay hydrated.
I know it sounds cliché, but we all know what happens during spring break... drinking a lot of alcohol. With the obvious being pointed out, it is important to bring along that water bottle as I mentioned earlier. Being in the hot sun all day means that if you don't need water by 1 o'clock then your best friend will. Keep it handy.

Carpooling can make for a more fun Spring Break, and a more affordable one. If you and your friends plan to drive to your destination, driving in as few cars as possible really helps save money on gas.
