Spotlight On Niykee

Once upon a time, a young South-African girl in Chicago, Illinois began her journey to spread the gift of music. Born with a natural talent, she brilliantly taught herself how to play guitar and piano and began to perform her own songs and covers of world famous tracks by her favorite artists. After her cover of a Chief Keef song performed on YouTube in 2012 was discovered by WorldstarHipHop at her young age of 18, the girl embarked on the path of stardom that would change her life forever. Recognized by revolutionary artists and figures of pop culture such as Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, and Russell Simmons, the stage was set for this South-African beauty. Watch out world, here comes Niykee Heaton.

Upon her discovery, Niykee’s career grew immensely. She decided to take full control of her new music and sound, and recorded self-written and composed tracks. She eventually signed with All Def Music, and chose her smooth and sensual single, “Bad Intentions” as her first EP. From alluring ballads to upbeat jams, each of Niykee’s songs showcase her captivating vocals alongside unique and incomparable melodies. On top of that, her lyrics are brilliant and relatable, adding to Niykee’s tremendous appeal.

It’s not only Niykee’s musical talent that has everyone buzzing, have you seen her Instagram posts? This twenty-year-old starlet is one of the most beautiful, sexy women on the world’s radar. With a whopping one and a half million followers, Niykee is no newcomer to the social media scene. She uses her Instagram and Twitter accounts to promote her music, up-and-coming events, and to show her followers how she embraces her body and overall appearance. To put it simply, any man or woman could potentially fall in love with the singer’s look. Honestly, I can’t decide whether I want to be her best friend or to simply BE her! While some of her pictures can be deemed provocative, Niykee has explained in the past that she feels comfortable in her own skin, in efforts to empower all women to be confident with their individual beauty.

To expand her brand, Niykee created a "movement" and clothing line known as Naturyl Born Killers, or NBK. This has become her trademark, splashed across most all of the products she sells on her website, NaturylBornKillers.com. The collection is made up of the most stylish collection tees, tanks, hoodies, and phone cases.

What is it that Niykee can’t do? I’m still not sure yet. While staring in awe at her killer Instagram posts everyday, I’m always jamming to Niykee’s songs on repeat. You can bet that I will be the first person in line when her first official album is released. Trust me, once you check out her music, you’ll be in a trance. All information about Niykee Heaton’s life, tours, links to her social media accounts, and songs can be found on her website, niykeeheatonmusic.com and on her SoundCloud account. Just wait, you’ll be an NBK before you know it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
