Marvel has created the newest blockbuster movie "Deadpool" and it seemed like everyone was excited to see it. Many people went to go see it the opening weekend, including myself. So, without further ado, here is my SPOILER FREE review of the movie.
Ryan Reynolds stars in the new anti-superhero movie "Deadpool." The movie was over the top violent, mindlessly offensive, and had a sick sense of humor. So, it was great and everything that I had expected from the movie. While it is in the "Marvel " universe with "Iron Man" and "Captain America," the "Deadpool" movie is very different, mainly because it is rated R and not PG-13.
Before I saw this movie I did know a little about the comics. I knew somewhat of what to expect, knowing his origin story and what his personality was like. Prior to the seeing the movie I was completely in awe at the marketing team and how they promoted the movie. Needless to say, I was overly excited to see it. So, grab a chimichanga, sit down, and buckle up ‘cause this is going to get crazy.
"Deadpool" and all of his fourth-wall-breaking (talking to the audience) amazingness came alive on screen and blew my mind. I loved how Reynolds portrayed the anti-hero "Deadpool." He basically oozed the personality and really brought the character to life. With the right personality, backstory, and fighting style it felt like how a true "Deadpool" movie should. This was a very redeeming, considering how "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" messed up the character back in 2009. If you would like to watch a clip click here.
"Deadpool" is definitely rated R for a reason. It includes bloody murders, foul language, inappropriate jokes, and nudity. These are all good things in the "Deadpool" movie if you ask me because it was similar to the comics, but this is most definitely not for younger viewers and people who don't like blood. That’s what the “Avengers” is for. In short, this movie is not for everybody.
While this movie is not for some, many people will enjoy this. It includes scenes that flow seamlessly into the "Marvel" universe yet still keeping its anti-hero quality. It had a good sense of humor throughout the entire movie, with most of it relying on foul language and witty comments. The scenes seemed to flow well together. I liked how they incorporated his back story as well.
Overall I really liked it and would totally recommend it.
