Beauty has become a societal measure of success but is subjective. What is the real meaning of beauty? On what spectrum is beauty measured on? What if we saw souls instead of bodies? – what would be considered truly beautiful?
What is the first thing people would see? Would it be how much you love to love others, or would it be what and who you choose to love? What qualities are deeply embedded in your soul that define you?
What if we saw souls instead of bodies?
What would you want to keep secret from others? What would individuals connect on and what would individuals disconnect on? Would we as a society realize we are all very different or come to realize we are not that different after all?
What if we saw souls instead of bodies?
When the kindness of the heart shines over the outer appearance, outer beauty all together becomes more beautiful. What if people became more focused on the goodness of people’s hearts? Would our world become more peaceful? Would our world be more outburst with an act of kindness and generosity?
What if we saw souls instead of bodies?
A soul is defined as the essence or embodiment of a specified quality. How beautiful is that? Qualities that make up a person are what makes them truly beautiful. What if we saw souls instead of bodies?
Who would you fall in love with? What would become the most attractive qualities of a person? Instead of someone with dark hair, would it be someone who is kind and generous? Who would you befriend and why? Were you drawn to their sense of humor or their love or their mind?
What if we saw souls instead of bodies?
Who would society look up to as leaders? Would it change if the appearance aspect was taken away? We strive to be like our heroes, so would we latch onto the qualities rather than the goals of obtaining their outer appearance?
What if we saw souls instead of bodies?
Would we change as individuals? If our souls were exposed to those around us, would we change or be satisfied with what others see?
So, yes, maybe this is all a bit metaphoric. But, what if we lived to explore people’s souls? To see past the outer beauty and dig into someone’s qualities. Beauty is so much more than the dress you wear, the number you are on that scale or the color of your skin. Beauty is wide. Beauty is deep. Beauty comes from within. So, make it a goal this week to get to know someone’s soul.
