What It's Like Being Sisters With Your Sisters

There are very few relationships in the world like the relationship between sisters. You have been there for each other your entire lives and have quite literally seen everything. You've laughed, cried, screamed, and fought over some of the dumbest things ever like who gets to sit in the front seat on the way to school. Through it all, no matter what, you know they'll always be there for you, and you will always be there for them too.

This relationship is similar to the bond you share with sorority sisters once you are in a chapter. Life can get really crazy and pretty weird in college, and your sorority sisters are always the ones who are there to pick you back up when you fall down.

I have an older sister and a younger sister, and they are my best friends in the entire world. When my older sister went off to college, she decided to go through sorority recruitment. I remember being on the edge of my seat at home, just waiting for her to tell me which sorority she got into. When the day finally came and she told us she was a Phi Mu, my entire family was so happy for her.

When I decided I was going to attend the same university as my older sister, I kept saying that I wanted to do my own thing. However, when I ran home to Phi Mu on bid day, I knew I made the right choice and was so happy to share this special sisterhood with her.

My little sister chose to attend a different university than us, but still decided to go through recruitment. That same feeling of being on the edge of my seat came back, and when she called us and told us she was a Phi Mu too, we went on a roller coaster of emotions. We screamed, cried, laughed at ourselves for crying, and became overjoyed about being, as we like to call it, "double sisters"!!

Now that we are all in the same sorority, we have so many inside jokes and little secrets that we can share. We always throw up our sorority sign when taking family pictures, and know that we are a part of something so much bigger than us. I didn't know it was possible for us to become closer, but the sorority bond has helped us to learn even more about each other, and about ourselves.

Both of my sisters are my role models, my heroes, and I see everything I aspire to be in both of them. It is so special to us that we now get to share something deeper than us and bond in so many more ways than we ever expected. If you have sisters and are lucky enough to join the same sorority someday, I hope that you will be able to feel the same amount of excitement we did.

Not only did my sorority bring me my best friends at school, but it also brought me closer to the two most important people in my life, and that is something I will be eternally grateful for. LIOB sistas!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
