When I went through Panhellenic recruitment in 2017, I was an incoming freshman that had no idea what to expect. I was looking for a way to meet new people and I knew I wanted to join a sorority. However, some of the stereotypes I had heard about Greek life concerned me. As an anxious 18-year-old, I was terrified of what was ahead of me.

"What if greek life isn't a good fit for me?" "Will I fit in with these girls?"

With all of the chaos that is rush week, I wanted to make sure I was making the best decision for myself. Little did I know, one year later, I can confidently say that joining a sorority was the best decision of my life.

My sorority is more than a sisterhood to me, it's my home. My sisters have become my best friends and overall my biggest support system. They are constantly challenging me to be the best version of myself and accomplish my goals. They are a helping hand when I go through a hard time, or a cheerleader when I reach my goals. These girls make my day without even having to try, through the little things that they do for me. All of the sacrifices I have had to make to be in a sorority, no longer feel like sacrifices because of these girls.

I have never met a group of girls more dependable, loyal, or hilarious in all my life. The lifelong friendships I have made in my sorority will have an impact on me forever. These girls have taught me how to be strong, own up to my mistakes, cherish the good times, and live life to the fullest. The happiness that radiates within my sisters inspires me to be a better person every day.

Each sister I have gotten to know has taught me a valuable lesson that I will take with me into adulthood. You would think that putting 150+ college girls together would be crazy, but really it gives you the opportunity to grow in so many ways you never thought you would. Each sister has a special quality about them that will motivate you to realize your potential whether it be in school, work, or life in general.

I can confidently say I'm not the same person I was a year ago, all thanks to my sisters. Even though we've been through our highs and lows throughout this past year, I have all the confidence in the world that the best is yet to come.

Thank you Zeta Tau Alpha, I don't know where I would be without you. ZLAM!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
