That's right, it's that time of year. As soon as spring hits, it's like a countdown to formal season. We're making our hair and nail appointments months in advance and test out our makeup looks instead of studying for finals. A month before formal, the infamous checklist comes out: find a dress, find a date (or just force your big to be your date, because let's be real, boys suck), make your before/after plans, and try not to lose your sanity before the date finally rolls around. Here is the formal preparation process and execution as told by gifs...

Finding out the date of formal.


Finding out the theme.


Starting your dress hunt.


Finding the perfect outfit.


Attempting to start a formal diet.


And failing...


Searching for a date.


Somehow finding one at the last minute.


Realizing it's the week of.

Getting ready on the day of.


Arriving at the venue.


Winning a superlative.


Getting home after it's all over.


Already getting excited for next year.
