Even though it’s weird to say that I’m officially a sophomore (a part of me doesn’t even know what our real significance is), but it’s even better to know how much greater second year will be than the first. The first week of sophomore years was filled with so many emotions, just like that of freshman.

1. You have the intention and motivation to actually put in effort in making your room pretty this year

For me, I kind of just let everything flow when I was decoration my room freshman and couldn’t care less about how aesthetically pleasing our room looked. But now that I know the environment I live in, I definitely loved making my room all pretty.

2. You love your parents but aren’t as sad as you were last year when they had to leave

It’s very typical to get homesick the first week of freshman year and even have a few emotional break downs because you’re without your family. But as a sophomore, you spend the time you can with your parents on move in day but still feel happy and know you are loved when your gone (and no emotional breakdowns happen)

3. The moment of reuniting with your college friends is even better than expected

Of course, you love your hometown friends and everything, but your college friends are people that you were with 24/7 throughout your first year. And truthfully, they’re the ones who know you and laugh with/at you the best.

4. You are you happy that you find yourself saying hi to so many people on campus

The awkward events from the first day of freshman year are finally over after you’ve gotten the sense of who you like. Saying hi to all the people around you gives you enjoyment and it just feels great to know your surroundings

5. You can proudly say that you (almost) fully know your way around campus

Even though classes might be a hike to get to, you know exactly how to do it and what the right shortcuts are. You’re officially done getting confused by the campus make. And you never make any making wrong turns for you, well maybe one or two but that’s it.

6. You make an even greater effort to balance out homework, your job, and friends even though it’s difficult

It’s really hard to balance things out and you already know that from experience, that being some of the mistakes you’ve made. So this year, you have a real positive attitude about working towards getting that 3.7 GPA and keeping ties with your wonderful friends. Also, you don’t even care how hard classes are because you’re so happy to be back.

7. You intend to stop overthinking and caring what other people think

For me, this is a really really important one. As a freshman, I cared far too much about my reputation and how people saw me in college. But now, I realized that the only one who cared about how I act was me.

8. You're no longer seen as the "newbie"

It may be just me, but that fact that you aren't a freshman anymore is just a plus within itself. You're a sort of an "upperclassmen" and it feels somewhat powerful, even with all the new freshmen that are crowding around you.

9. Overall, you enter this year with completely positive and good vibes

You’ve never felt so confident about yourself in college and hopeful for this year at all when you were a freshman. As a sophomore, you know more what you want and you are so excited for everything that your college has in store. And in the end, as a sophomore, you truly remember why you picked and loved your college so much in the first place.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
