Top 10 Songs That'll Have You Hooked On Sing-Alongs Right Away

In This Article:

If you're too cool to admit that you have never sung your heart out while driving in the car by yourself... this is not the list for you. In this list, I count down my favorite songs that have me singing as loud as I can within the first three seconds of the song.

1. "Basket Case" by Green Day

DO YOU HAVE THE TIME?!! TO LISTEN TO ME WHINE!!! ABOUT NOTHING AND EVERYTHING ALL AT ONCE!!

2. "Gold Digger" by Kanye West feat. Jamie Foxx

That Ray Charles impression is flawless! And if you're not singing by the squeak in "money", you aren't listening. Arguably the catchiest of Kanye's song, and thanks to Mr. Foxx, you are definitely hooked in before the song really even begins. Mind you, now he ain't saying she's a gold digger...

3. "Your Love" by The Outfield

Who is Josie? We may never know. But the vacation is far away and a great song came from it. This one has been an 80's since the day it came out. The key isn't too high for you, go ahead and sing as loud as you can.

4. "Dear Maria, Count Me In" by All Time Low

Quick second to clear you throat. Ready? Go. Admittedly, the lyrics are pretty cheesy. But has that stopped a karaoke night before? It's too catchy to ignore. Belt it!

5. "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" by Backstreet Boys

It's tough to deny that iconic harmony. These boys were on top of the world for most of the 2000's, and this song is the perfect example of why. Turn this song on the next time it's your turn to have the aux and watch how quick a dance party starts.

6. "Shadows Of The Night" by Pat Benatar

Is this a metaphor? Where is she taking me? Surrender my dreams for what? I don't totally understand what the song is about either. But you better believe every word is getting screamed when it comes on! And yes, balling your hand in a fist does help you sing better.

7. "Billionaire" by Travie McCoy feat. Bruno Mars

Perhaps the most relatable song on this list. You and Bruno Mars share a similar desire, and you're presented with it right away. From the first time you hear this song, that intro is going to have you hooked for life even if you don't like the rest of the song.

8. "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor

Beginning with a short piano into, you have time to dig deep to channel your inner diva. Most people aren't able to hit the range of notes that are explored in this song. But don't let that stop you!! Let it hit those feels and be the strong, independent individual that you know you are.

9. "Hey Jude" by The Beatles

If you're not hooked in by the first two words, you're sure to be singing by the "na-na-nuh-nah". Maybe not their best song of all time, it is definitely the one to start making you sing the fastest. Remember to let it into your heart!

10. "How You Remind Me" by Nickelback

Normally treated like scum of the Earth, it is difficult to deny the success of this song. Even the truest haters of this band like this song at least a little bit. Nobody's listening... go ahead and sing along.

Honorable Mentions

"Take It On The Run" by REO Speedwagon
Softer and less in-your-face. But from the first listen, you can't help but wonder what he heard from a friend who heard from another friend who heard from another...
"Pompeii" by Imagine Dragons
More chanting than singing, but it's catchy enough to hook you in from the first listen. Maybe even more so than the actual chorus! "Ay-ay-oh, ay-oh!"
"Sugar, We're Going Down" by Fall Out Boy

The only reason why this song isn't in the top ten is because there is about 25 seconds of music before the first line of the song. So technically you aren't singing "right away". But tell me you're not shouting that first line when it's time. Tell me that "AM I MORE THAN YOU BARGAINED FOR YET" isn't the first thing you think of when you even see the title of the song in print.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
