5 Underrated songs to get you summer ready

Now, I know I'm not the only one who's tired of listening to the same ten songs replaying on the radio. Or, someone who keeps skipping songs on Spotify or Apple Music just to find the right song for the right mood. Thankfully, I have managed to put together a list of songs by underrated artists to get you pumped up for the summer!

1. "I can't focus when you're with me, I can't sleep when I'm alone" - Nightly, XO

This is a favorite of mine! I discovered this band while listening to my local Nash FM radio station when they debuted this song. It gives out a chill vibe, but at the same time, makes you want to get up and dance no matter where you are.

2. "For every kiss, you sent through the air I'd be rich, or love, be a billionaire" - Nobody, Todrick Hall feat. Jade Novah & Cynthia Ervio

A solid BOP! Plus, the music video is the cutest thing ever. It has a great representation of LGBT+ people of color. Todrick Hall is literally God sent! He started out on YouTube with the debut of Disney Dudez and all those cool flashmobs you see. But, the past 2 months he gifted us with his new album called 'Forbidden' and Nobody is seriously the most innocent song on this album to date.

3. "I cut my hands on the edge of the world, Holding on with all my might, Crawled to the depths to the diamonds and pearls, I made it to the other side" Silver Horizon - Trey Pearson

I picked this song specifically because of June being Pride Month. Trey Pearson (former Christian artist) came out a little over 2 years ago and has been on my LGBT+ playlist ever since! Trey is truly an inspiration to me and many other people of the LGBT+ community and the Christian world. Also, he recently came out with his first EP called 'Love Is Love' which is definitely worth the listen, especially if you're struggling with your faith and sexuality.

4. " Tired eyed kids playin' in a sprinkler, daddy drinkin' cold Bud Light" - American Spirit, Thomas Rhett

Thomas Rhett is my absolute go-to when I'm in the mood to listen to country and my summer SCREAMS country! American Spirit is an awesome song to have on a playlist when you decide to stay in with some friends, have a grill out around a bonfire. I also love to listen to this song on the 4th of July because it sets the theme big time.

5. "She don't care about my big screen, Or my collection of DVDs, Things like that just never mattered much to her" - Hey Leonardo (She Likes Me For Me), Blessed Union of Souls

One of my favorite 90s songs! Hey, Leonardo is the type of song you play at 9 pm on your way home from practice with your windows rolled down and volume up. Also, a great song to jam in the car to, either with friends or by yourself!

Check out all of these songs to get pumped for summer!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
