My first year of college was not easy. There was so much change going on around me and there were moments when I just felt completely overwhelmed. I was worn out spiritually and mentally and on the days that I felt I had nothing to give, I would go to the only place I knew I could find rest, in my God. These are some of the songs I played to remind myself I wasn't alone in my struggles and that Jesus was walking right beside me through everything I was facing. I don't know what you may be going through at the moment but I hope you give these songs a listen and allow God to work in your heart and in your situation because you are not alone. He will give you strength to get through this and remember He is working all things out for our good (Romans 8:28).

1. Jesus I Come by Elevation Worship

"Oh how I need your grace more than my words can say"

"Thank you, Jesus, just as I am I come. Hallelujah, oh what amazing love"

2. Take Courage by Kristene Di Marco

"And You who holds the stars and calls them each by name will surely keep Your promise to me that I will rise in Your victory"

"Take courage my heart, stay steadfast my soul, He's in the waiting"

3. God of Miracles by Chris McClarney

"Let faith arise, in spite of what I see, Lord I believe but help my unbelief I choose to trust You."

"Let faith arise for my Champions not dead He is alive"

4. Gracefully Broken by Tasha Cobbs Leonard

"Here I am God, arms wide open, pouring out my life, gracefully broken"

"Your power at work in me, I'm broken gracefully, I'm strong when I am weak, I will be free"

5. The Rock Won't Move by Vertical Worship

"The Rock won't move, and His love is strong. The Rock won't move and His love can't be undone."

"On Christ the solid rock I stand. All other ground is sinking sand. The Rock won't move."

6. God I Look To You by Jenn Johnson

"God I look to you. I won't be overwhelmed. Give me vision to see things like you do."

"Hallelujah our God reigns. Forever and all my days, Hallelujah."

"And I will love you Lord my strength. And I will love you Lord my shield. And I will love you Lord my rock. Forever and all my days, I will love you, God."

7. You Make Me Brave by Amanda Cook

"You call me out beyond the shore into the waves"

"You make me brave, No fear can hinder now the promises you've made"

8. So Will I (100 Billion X) by Hillsong Worship

"And as You speak
A hundred billion failures disappear
Where You lost Your life so I could find it here
If You left the grave behind You so will I
I can see Your heart in everything You've done
Every part designed in a work of art called love
If You gladly chose surrender so will I
I can see Your heart
Eight billion different ways
Every precious one
A child You died to save
If You gave Your life to love them so will I "

9. Pursue/All I  Need Is You by Hillsong Worship

"Through the fire, I'll persevere
I won't submit to anything
Where I'll go you've been before
And all my trust is in You Lord"

"Lead me to You
Forever, Lord, I will pursue
I will pursue
You've won my heart
Jesus, You're all that I want
All that I want"

10. Do It Again By Elevation Worship

"I've seen You move, You move the mountains
And I believe, I'll see You do it again
You made a way, where there was no way
And I believe, I'll see You do it again"

"Your promise still stands
Great is Your faithfulness, faithfulness
I'm still in Your hands
This is my confidence, You've never failed me yet"

Let me finish with this reminder from God;

But now, this is what the Lord says—
he who created you, Jacob,
he who formed you, Israel:
"Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.

-Isaiah 43: 1-2

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
