Here are some songs that I've become obsessed with, courtesy of TikTok.
1. "Make You Mine" - PUBLIC
This song is SO catchy but in an annoying way. I put it on and instantly my whole family is dancing and vibing.
2. "Moral of the Story" - Ashe
This song is a bit of a downer but also inspiring. My favorite line is when she says, "You can think that you're in love when you're really just engaged".
3. "Someone To You" - BANNERS
This is honestly just a bop. "I don't wanna die or fade away, I just wanna be someone."
4. "You're Somebody Else" - Flora Cash
This is easily one of my favorite songs. It is a little different, but definitely a vibe. Also, the lyrics are kind of brilliant. "You were the better part of every bit of beating heart that I had." You can't tell me that's not genius.
5. "In This Shirt" - The Irrespressibles
As a dancer, this song just makes me want to get up and whip out some boujee contemporary moves. The violinist really went ham.
6. "Mr. Blue Sky" - Electric Light Orchestra
This song is beyond iconic and 100 times over an absolute bop.
7. "Happiest Year" - Jaymes Young
This is another sad song, but it's sweet. I also think it's a good reminder to be aware of how we treat those who treat us so well.
8. "IDK You Yet" - Alexander 23
This song is a little sad because it's about waiting to find your person and/or your soulmate, but it seems to have been on-brand for TikTok fans and more. My geography professor actually played it before class one day!
9. "Welcome Home" - Radical Face
I think I like this song because it's different and the chorus makes you feel like you're entering a whole new beautiful world.
10. "Line Without a Hook" - Ricky Montgomery
This is easily my favorite song right now. It is very different from other currently popular songs. My parents said it reminds them a bit of a Queen song. I can't explain why I love it so much, I just really do.
