So you're the girl who thought she could do it all. You're familiar to me. Why? I'm that girl too.
You have big aspirations in life. You want to do it all now. A little part of your mind tells you maybe to wait a couple of years until you've mastered this time management thing. The other part of your mind tells you to ignore it and just add more things on your plate.
You feel accomplished because of the sheer volume of things you can do. Besides, as college students, we're expected to juggle it all. We all want to be the person who somehow manages to get a 4.0, land an internship, be a student leader in a sorority, and still have time to go to parties.
You probably can't think of anyone who actually does that. If you do, you're stretching the truth a little. In reality, everyone has to sacrifice something to do it all. There's no such thing as doing everything without sacrificing something.
I'm not telling you to forget about your dreams. I'm not telling you to forget about getting involved in college. I'm just trying to say that, as a girl who thought she could do it all without breaking, we are human and need space.
You are not superhuman. Your friends aren't superhuman. Your role models are definitely not superhuman.
Do it all. Just take your time. Know when it becomes too much. Healthy boundaries aren't just for relationships. They apply to your life too.
