Taking an Uber has become a key part of an average night out since its expansion and growth as a company over the past year. Some rides are more eventful than others, however, these are some of the different types of Uber drivers you have probably experienced.
1. Directionally Challenged One
“Hello? Yes, this is your Uber driver. I can't seem to find your location…" No matter how specific your instructions, you will walk outside to see your driver parked at least a block and a half away from you.
2. Life of the Party
No need to ask this driver if they have an aux cord; they'll hand it to you as soon as you get into their car. They seem more focused on helping you have a good time than getting you to your desired location. They might even have fun flashing colored lights in their car (I've only experienced this once). This driver's main goal seems to be to get you and your friends to say, “You're the most fun Uber driver we've ever had!" And you probably will.
3. DJ
This driver will already be blasting the radio when you get in their car. They may have an aux cord, but you'd better believe they will be controlling all the music themselves. Chances are good they won't even let you change the radio station.
4. Speedracer
This driver will make you fear for your life as they zoom through yellow lights and whip around corners. You may be running late, but you'd rather make it there in one piece. But asking them to slow down seems out of the question.
5. Chatterbox
It doesn't matter how long your ride is; this driver will talk the entire time. They will talk about themselves, comment on traffic, ask you questions, remark on the weather -- basically, anything is fair game no matter how weird or personal.
6. Silent One
You and this driver will exchange almost no words from the moment you get into their car to the moment you reach your destination. Even if you ask them a question, they will answer in one word. They are unlikely to have the radio playing, and forget about asking them if they have an aux cord. If you happen to be Ubering somewhere flying solo, riding with this driver is an unbearably awkward experience.
