It's finally spring! We're four months into 2017 and that is absolutely insane to me. As I hope you've heard, there has been some pretty cool songs come out this year. I love how 2017 has been so far musically. Here are some of my favorites so far.
1. "Lipgloss" by Charli XCX ft CupcaKKe
This song is so good! I love the beat. It has this really nice electro feel to it. Charli's new album, Number 1 Angel , was released about a month ago. CupcaKKe is honestly one of the best rappers I've heard in awhile. This song can totally make you dance. I'd definitely want this played at a party that I was at.
2. "Sign of the Times" by Harry Styles
I'm not sure about you, but I cried when I heard this song. It was absolutely beautiful. Harry's vocal range is amazing! That song hit me in my heart. It's so heartfelt and beautiful. "Sign of the Times" has such a Bowie-esque feel. That is such a power ballad and again he has a great vocal range that makes this song one of the greatest things I've ever heard.
3. "Now or Never" by Halsey
Halsey is such a talent and I do not believe that she deserves the hate she gets. Anyway, this song has a nice beat. I also enjoy the uniqueness of Halsey's voice. If the only reason you know Halsey is because of " Closer ," you need to sit down and educate yourself. "Now or Never" is a cool song for when you're riding in the car, or especially if you want to give your partner an ultimatum.
4. " 3AM (Pull Up) " by Charli XCX feat. Mo
This song will get stuck in your head forever! I caught myself singing it multiple times. Also, Charli and Mo's voices work so well together that it's just a great thing. This song will also make you dance and I totally think it's kind of a regret to that guy your friends told you not to date. Then you realized you shouldn't have dated me either. It's just such a cool song and I like what it means. Also, I'm so in love with Charli XCX right now -- she's amazing.
5. "Good Girls" by LANY
This new LANY song is amazing! LANY specializes in dream pop and this falls right in line with this. "Good Girls" will certainly get stuck in your head for days! Also, it will 400% make you dance. This is the song you play at dusk or at a cute sleepover or just sitting around with your friends. I have not stopped listening to it since the first time I've heard it.
6. "Green Light" by Lorde
I have waited so long for Lorde's return! I have loved her since day one. I relate to her so much, except that she has a Grammy and I'm not doing anything with my life. her voice is so unique and her music is so amazing. It's touching. I love it! When I first heard "Green Light" I wasn't moved but now it is my favorite thing. One of the lyrics from this song is my bio on Twitter.
The music this year seems to be something special! I'm waiting to hear more from my favorites!
