You have heard the sayings, friends come and go, but family is forever, sisters by chance, friends by choice. They may sound super cliché, but if you actually have a sibling, you know it is true. My sister is only one year younger than me and I cannot remember a time in my life where I did not have her. She has been there through my highs and lows, my thick and thin, my bad and good. She is the one person I can say has always been there for me my entire life.

I have had a countless number of friends in my life, but I have only had one friend that has been there for me through it all, and that friend is my sister. From when we were babies, my mom would tell me I used to translate for her because I was the only one who could understand what she was saying. Through my laid back pre-school and elementary years to my outrageous middle school and wild high school years and even when I am across the country at college, she is continuously there for me. She is the one person I can come to for anything. She can make me start laughing when I am hysterically crying. If I am happy she makes me even happier, and if I am down, she is the person that can put a smile on my face.

We may fight a lot, but she makes me proud to be a big sister. She shows me that sisterhood and friendship goes hand in hand. I do not know where I would be without her love and support. She will always be my best friend and my little sister.
