1. Me one. Me two. Me three.
When my parents told us if we wanted ice cream, instead of saying, “I want some," and “I want some too,” we would call out numbers. We thought that “too” meant “two.”
2. Spanglish issues.
My older sister and I struggled the most. When we couldn’t find the English word for something, we would automatically say the Spanish word, but in an American accent. For example, when my family and I went to Mexico, my older sister noticed how the license plates in Mexico looked different than the ones in America, she called them “plaques” instead of “plates.”
3. Sucking my fingers… and toes.
I hated the pacifier! I hated it! What did I do instead? I would lay in bed and put my toes in my mouth. I also sucked my fingers where ever I went. Except for school! Hey, I wanted friends!
4. The weekly at-home Talent Show.
My sisters and I were really competitive against each other. When my parents would eat dinner, we would provide the entertainment. We also asked my parents to rank us. You don’t know how many fights we got in by the end of the night! Oh, and our microphones were Barbie’s brushes.
5. As a toddler, I ran away from home in search of my mom.
This is the time when I was deathly afraid of Chucky from "The Seed Of Chucky." My mom woke me up asking if I wanted to go with her to drop off my older sister at school. I told her no and I woke up three minutes later. I thought Chucky killed my mom, so I went out of the house through the garage in search of my mom. Luckily, my mom’s friend saw me and took care of me until my mom got home. My mom arrived thirty seconds later. Mind you, I was only two.
6. King Kong.
My little sister would get these little temper tantrums and when no one paid attention to her she would turn off the tv and stand in front of it. My older sister and I gave her the name "King Kong" because we are evil.
7. Attacked by balls.
That was exactly how it was. My sisters and I thought it was funny when they would hit me with a bouncy-happy-face ball and I would fall on the floor.
8. We thought we were news reporters.
When my old dog Cuddles ate a bird, we got these cheap toys from Del Taco and used them as microphones to record the news on my dad’s camera. I don’t know why it was breaking news.
9. My sister tried killing me with a plastic cup.
My little sister and I were on a children’s slide and my guess is that she wanted me to go down the slide, but I didn’t want to. What did she do? She gashed my head with a purple plastic cup. I still have the scar.
10. My baby sister’s first soccer game.
We had to yell at her to go after the ball. She was too busy making friends with people in the soccer team.
