Signs You’re a Fan Girl/Guy

Obviously this list is not exhaustive but as I’ve grown older I’ve fully embraced my inner fangirl. You should too! Being passionate about something is worth it. Living a life with no passion or having to hide it? Now that is sad.

1. When you watch clips of your favorite actor over and over. You've memorized the name of the show/movie, and you know right down to the second when those scenes happen.

2. You dream about them and their world a lot more than you feel comfortable sharing with family and friends.

3. When you know more about your celebrity crush’s likes & dislikes than your own family members, but you can't tell anyone because:

4. When you constantly make casual references to the subject of your fandom whether others get them or not.

5. When dialog or references or quotes from your fandom become a regular part of your everyday vocabulary

6. When the receptionist in your dentist's office hides a magazine with your favorite actor on the cover to give to you when she sees you next.

7. When your personalized license plate has something to do with your fandom.

8. When you save to go to a convention instead of an actual vacation.

9. When you start fangirling in front of non-fans, and it goes like this:

10. When you have more pictures in your phone of your crush than you do of your significant other.
11. When the latest episode of your favorite show is over and you wonder how you're going to make it through the week until the next episode.

12. When quotes from the show begin to infiltrate your everyday speech, and you don’t realize that no one understands the reference.

13. You buy movie/band/convention tickets WAY in advance.

14. Your year is not defined by holidays but by all the conventions you attend.

15. When one of your favorite characters is having difficulties...

16. You keep complete seasons of your favorite shows on your DVR until the blu-ray comes out.

17. You plan event watches with friends of your favorite shows, and you go all out.

18. You have canceled plans if they interfere with a premiere of your show.

19. Your Amazon wishlist is filled with gifts/toys related to your fandom.

20. You recommend shows to people. ALL. THE. TIME.

21. When you're not able to go to a convention.

22. You've binge watched an entire series on Netflix... more than once.
23. When your favorite famous person follows you back.

24. You try to bring your fandom into everyday helpful items (e.g. Han Solo frozen in carbonite ice cube trays.)

25. Some of your best friendships were born from a mutual love of a shared fandom and they are your tribe! However, they all probably live far away.

26. When someone randomly mentions your favorite character, actor, or fandom in general, and your eyes seem to sparkle, but you have to keep yourself calm.

27. When you go to sporting goods stores to buy stuff for waiting in line instead of camping.
28. When you'd pay top dollar for a rare (used) item from your fandom on eBay only to do the happy dance of joy when you find a NEW one at a reasonable price somewhere else!
