1. You’ve had a mental breakdown when all your work and studying has piled up.

2. You don’t remember the last time you got a decent amount of sleep.

3. You promise you'll get your life together every Sunday, but by 8 p.m. realize you haven’t done anything all day.

4. You’ve refused to answer calls from your parents in fear of answering the question “How’s school going?

5. But you call them as soon as you need money because your bank account is at $3.56.

6. You have an early Friday morning class that you rarely show up to.

7. You haven't done laundry in weeks.

8. And therefore look absolutely horrible in the clothes you wear to class.

9. You have caught almost every disease that has gone around campus.

10. You are too lazy to go to the dining hall and end up eating anything you can find in your room instead.

11. Or ordering delivery food or pizza.

12. Which means you have successfully hit the freshman 15.

13. But you refuse to go to the gym.

14. You haven’t opened your textbook since the first few weeks of the semester.

15. You’ve calculated your GPA and realized there is no hope so you successfully give up on the whole "school" thing.

16. Each midterm is just another reminder of how bad you are doing.

17. Which makes finals week that much more concerning.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.
