8 Signs You're A Crazy Pug Owner
Anne O'Hara

I've owned my pug Sluggo, for five years. In those five years, I've realized owning a pug is unlike owning any other breed of dog because of how unique they are. If you have ever seen a pug in real life, you know how fun and crazy they are! If you own a pug and you're like me, your pug is pretty much the center of your universe and you can probably relate to all of the signs that you're a crazy pug owner!

1. There's no such thing as personal space.

When you get a pug, you surrender all of your rights to privacy. Alone time is no longer a thing because your pug will become your bathroom buddy, lap dog, and cuddle partner. Sometimes you'll even wake up with your pug on your face. At first, this is a little odd. But you slowly get used to a large hairy baby on you constantly.

2. Hair....hair everywhere.

Pugs come in two colors, tan and black. Most pugs love being scratched and rubbed constantly because AFFECTION IS LIFE to a pug. But when you scratch your beautiful baby's coat, they will shed....and shed a LOT. Sooner or later you'll put down the lint rolled and wear your black or tan fuzz like a badge of pride.

3. Half of your photos are your dog.

Ask any pug owner to see a picture of their dog and they'll whip their phones out at lightning speed and show you everything their dog has done in the past two months.

"Here he is laying on his back!"

"Here he is taking a bath!"

"Here he is in the sweater I bought him!"

Your camera roll will be all pug, all the time. We even have an Instagram account for our pug!

4. You get used to snoring.

Any pug owner will tell you their favorite sleeping companion has breathing problems. Because of their squish-faces, pugs don't have much of a respiratory system. That means you will constantly hear them breathing nonstop. It's annoying at first, but now I don't even register it happening.

5. Bring out the ointment!

Pugs have wrinkles on wrinkles. Those wrinkles can get cracked and dry, especially if it's a colder month or if your pal likes to run around frequently outside. To prevent chapped-pug-face, you have to constantly slather your pug's dry face in healing ointment like a little baby so they remain nice and soft.

6. They're the center of attention ALWAYS.

If you take your pug out in public, from going for a walk to sitting in the back seat of the car, people WILL notice your dog. Not only will they notice, they will want to pet, play, or talk to your pug. Now, your dog will LOVE this because they love attention, but sometimes you have to get to places on time!

7. You always have a nap buddy.

Pugs have two settings: energetic or sleepy. There's really no in between. This is helpful because you will always have someone to cuddle up to when you're napping. The only downside is you constantly have to keep them from sleeping on your face.

8. Hope you like humidity.

If your pug is like my pug, he will like to sleep under the blankets with you. If he is not snoring already, he's still awake and heavily breathing. This heavy breathing will

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
