13 Signs You're Addicted To Peanut Butter

Peanut butter: "a food paste made primarily from ground roasted peanuts." The golden goodness that goes with almost anything. A salty spread that has the potential to kill someone if they are allergic, but this article is not about the dangers of the best food in the world. If you're like me and my friends, you are obsessed with peanut butter. And why wouldn't you be? What's not to like? Peanut butter is not only a quintessential American delicacy, but a treat enjoyed around the world. Where would we be without peanut butter? Big shoutout to George Washington Carver! We owe you one. Peanut butter can be justified as both a dessert and a meal! You can conjoin peanut butter with celery, bread, apples, bananas, pretzels, chocolate, ice cream, oatmeal, Oreos, jelly, spoon, sadness, happiness, inebriation and so much more if you're feeling daring. So do you think you're addicted to peanut butter? Not sure yet? Have no fear! Here are a few signs you're obsessed with peanut butter.

1. Having nothing else to eat for dinner doesn't necessarily sound like too big of a problem to you.

2. People often wonder if eating straight peanut butter makes your mouth sticky. You think of it as the joy that never ends.

3. If you're a vegetarian, peanut butter is literally where you get 89 percent of your protein from.

4. You have found a way to incorporate peanut butter into literally every meal you have in one day. (Ex. PB oatmeal for breakfast, PB+J sandwich for lunch, PB granola bar for a snack, and PB Thai noodles for dinner.)

5. This addiction probably started when you were a mere child who asked mom for a peanut butter sandwich in your lunch box, but was discouraged against this because of food allergies at school. It was a lose-lose situation for everyone.

6. With other foods, you find yourself thinking "Wow, this tastes pretty good...but it would taste better with peanut butter."

7. You can justify peanut butter being a part of any food group.

8. If someone asked you how much peanut butter you eat, you would hesitate to answer because no one is ready for the answer you're about to give. (Hint: it is a lot).

9. You start to get super snobby when it comes to peanut butter. "Is that all-natural peanut butter?"

10. Peanut butter is the perfect pre-workout snack. And post-workout snack. And late night snack. And mid-afternoon snack.

11. You have a preference between creamy and crunchy, but that won't stop you from eating whatever kind of peanut butter you can get your hands on.

12. You always opt for the peanut butter options everywhere you go, whether it's at an ice cream shop or candy store. You know only peanut butter can satisfy your taste buds.

13. You relate to this vine on a spiritual level:

Does any of this sound like you? Congratulations! It looks like you're addicted to peanut butter. Welcome to the club. We have jackets. Just kidding, no jackets, but we do have peanut butter.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
