Shonda Rhimes does it yet again. This past Thursday, TGIT (Thank God It’s Thursday) came back on air with the exception of a fan favorite, Scandal. She never fails to blow our minds and turn our lives upside down in a matter of seconds. So welcome back into our lives TGIT, you were dearly missed. Bring on the emotional roller coaster of heartbreak, suspense, and enchantment that does not ever seem to come to an end. As if one show of unbelievably talented stars wasn’t enough her four shows that are currently on air all exceed expectations.
After 12 seasons of pulling at our heartstrings with the interlocking web of relationships and the unpredictable deaths of the most important characters, Shonda brought back Greys Anatomy for it’s 13th season and it was nothing less then what you would expect: loads of drama, love, and blood. However, spoiler alert, if Shonda Rhimes is attempting to rid of Alex Karev, for the sake of humanity please no. Poor DeLuca but Alex is Meredith’s person and Meredith always needs her person! Not to mention he’s just fun to look at, I mean…… Alex and Jo are just both too stubborn. It kills me inside that they jus won’t let each other talk and explain themselves. But back to Meredith, she is such a good person. Props to swerving Riggs because I don’t think I would be able to resist. (If doctors like Karev, Riggs, and DeLuca are out there let me know because I would throw myself down a flight a stairs if it meant I got to be treated by them). While she may get caught up in lies, she’s just trying to look out for the people she cares most about like Alex and Maggie.
Since Scandal will not be back on air until January, sadly, we all had to wait a whole hour until we got to experience Shonda’s magical powers again in How to Get Away With Murder. Talk about a roller coaster. This show uncovers so many secret connections and new information that will literally make you gasp. These students have been through hell and back and their lives will never be the same because Annalise Keating has dragged them all into crazy personal life. While couples are sticking together like Annalise and Nate and the low key hook ups between Michaela and Asher, some couples have gone their separate ways. Spoiler alert: retweet if you got teary eyed when Oliver broke up with Connor cause retweet. I sure did. And I guess we will see ya later, Frank. Way to leave Laurel’s broken heart in the dust. As the group takes on a new case, Annalise has been given a new job. She has lost the privilege of teaching her intro to law class because well there is too much mind-bending shenanigans going on in her five student’s lives that put them in the bottom ten percent of the class.
This has been my quick recap and reviews of last weeks TGIT. Thank God It’s Back (TGIB). We all once again have something to look forward to get us through the week. When the weekend is so close yet so far away on Thursdays, we once again can say TGIT. Shonda, you never let us down. Thank you for continuing to blow our minds.
