The time has finally come.
" Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" is finally here, and I could not be more ready.
After the series had an untimely end in 2007, fans have been waiting very impatiently for the announcement of a reunion movie or show. And nearly a year ago, it was announced that we would be getting a revival after all, through Netflix.
Yet another reason Netflix is a favorite streaming network, giving people what they want (in most cases).
The trailer for the revival has brought fans all over the world together. After years of fan sites, podcasts such as Gilmore Guys and fans petitioning for the show to be put on Netflix, a plea which was eventually granted, GG fanatics are finally getting the reunion they have always wanted. The show will premiere on Netflix Nov. 25, with four installments of a 90 minute episode, which will be revolved around the four seasons: winter, spring, summer and fall.
I personally have spent years scouring the internet for all things Gilmore, whether it was information or just merchandise to show my support for the show.
Anyone that knows me is aware that my love for "Gilmore Girls" runs deep. I've watched the show on television, have bought the seasons on DVD before streaming it on Netflix was an option. I have bonded with family and friends over the show, and have proudly introduced many people in my life to the daily antics the Gilmore girls get up to in the series.
Based off my years of following the show, I've gathered that the cast was unaware season seven of the show would be the last one filmed. However true that is, fans did feel let down when finding out no seasons would follow the seventh.
Unfortunately, Amy Sherman-Palladino, the executive producer/creator of the beloved show, was not apart of filming during the last season, so the final season of the show lacks a certain amy-esque flair.
However, with the revival fans will finally be privy to one special piece of information.
Since day one of creating "Gilmore Girls," Sherman-Palladino has had the last three words of the series planned in her head, possibly spoken by Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) herself.
The trailer also shined light on Rory and where she seems to be, which is a little lost. It appears she is at a standstill with her career and wants to discover where she will end up next.
Lorelai speaks in the trailer about how she is feeling with where she is at in life, especially in regards to her relationship with Luke.
Emily is at the point in her life where she has to deal with life as a widow, following the untimely death of her husband Richard, who was played by actor Edward Herrmann. The trailer gives a peak into the funeral of Richard, causing some grief to hit fans as they watch for the first or hundredth time.
However, with a cast and crew that appreciated, loved and worked with the man for years, there is no doubt in my mind that his memory will be done justice in the show.
Many people, male and female, enjoy this show and will be able to identify with at least one of the Gilmore women as they deal with the struggles and emotions and growing up and going through life.
All the while once again experiencing the fast-talking, quippy, caffeine addicted girls that we all know and love.
