For those of you who do not know, Sheetz is a gas station chain similar to Wawa. They both have made to order food in the actual convenience store part and they both have actual gas as well. But trust me guys, there is no debate, Sheetz is far better than Wawa. Other people may try to tell you that Wawa is better and great but don't bother with the jabber, Sheetz has a much better selection of food and quality of food as well.
I grew up in York, Pennsylvania which is in South Central Pennsylvania, right south of Harrisburg. Sheetz are all around York, and really all over Pennsylvania. We had other similar places but Sheetz was most definitely the best. When I moved to Philadelphia for school though, there were no Sheetz anywhere close by, only Wawas. Obviously I was not too happy.
Everyone from Philadelphia raves about how amazing Wawa is and that their hoagies are so delicious so I figured I would give it a shot and hopefully it would be comparable to Sheetz. My friends and I would always argue about which is actually better because they love Wawa but I know that Sheetz is actually better. One night, we all decided to go to a Wawa and I would finally be able to figure out which gas/food/convenience store reigns supreme.
As soon as I walked in I was instantly underwhelmed. It could have just been that that particular location was not the best, but the place was so small and dirty. Being big and clean does not make one store better than the other though, it is based on the food. I usually get chicken strips and mozzarella sticks at Sheetz so I figured that is what I would try at Wawa. I was looking through the menu and there was such a small selection of food to pick from, and I did not even see mozzarella sticks on the menu. This shrunken menu was quite a disappointment for me seeing as Sheetz has a far bigger selection. At Sheetz you can get tacos, cheeseburgers, salads, pizza, hoagies, and everything in between. At Wawa, I felt like the only option I had was their hoagies.
As I was trying to figure out what to order I noticed that Wawa does not put the prices of their food on the ordering machine. I had no idea how much anything cost and that was very frustrating because Sheetz displays their prices. I finally decided to just get some chicken strips and I felt like they were just frozen pieces of chicken that I could get at my high school.
I'm disappointed Wawa, I'll be honest. But what did I say? There was no debate, Sheetz is and has always been the best of them all.
