Disney fans rejoice! We officially have a new Disney theme park to put on our bucket lists. On June 16, Shanghai Disneyland officially opened its doors for enthusiastic guests. The grand opening was streamed on the Internet, and everyone was buzzing about what old and new attractions would be featured. Luckily for us Disney fanatics who can't afford a plane ticket to China, the videos of the attractions were put on Youtube. After scouring through all of them, I've officially decided that I MUST visit this park before I die. Here are some of the Shanghai Disneyland attractions you wish you could ride right now!
4. Roaring Rapids
If you thought this water ride was going to be similar to Splash Mountain, think again. Strap into a twisty-turny raft and explore Shanghai Disneyland's "Roaring Mountain." According to Disney's website, legend has it that deep inside the mountain a crocodile-like beast hides and waits for his prey. You'll plunge down waterfalls, outrace scaly creatures, and get soaking, soaking wet.
3. Voyage to Crystal Grotto
This slow ride looks great for the whole family. Hop into an enchanted boat and ride through some of your favorite Disney stories. You'll see your favorite characters, such as Mrs. Potts, the Genie, and Rapunzel, and you'll be amazed by the water shows that accompany each story of characters. You certainly won't get as wet as Roaring Rapids, but you might still be able to cool off from the heat.
2. Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure
Guys, seriously look this attraction up on Youtube. If you thought Shanghai Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean ride was just going to be a replica of the classic ride at Disneyland and Disney World, you thought wrong. This attraction follows a fast-paced story as Captain Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones sword-fight there way to sunken riches. You'll not only ride on the water but go underwater as you journey to the depths of the ocean and explore the Flying Dutchman. There are some amazing special effects in this ride that will blow your mind. I highly recommend checking it out.
1. TRON Lightcycle Power Run
This is the Shanghai Disneyland ride that everyone's talking about... and for good reason! This high-speed roller coaster takes you through the cyberworld of Tron. You'll strap into your very own lightcycle, which is a lot like a motorcycle, and zip past glowing lights, all while electronic music blasts through speakers. This is certainly a roller coaster of the future.
What do you think? Are you convinced to start saving your money now for a plane ticket to China? If so, you're not alone. Disney has definitely done it again, delivering a park with action-packed, family fun rides that are irresistible to Disney lovers.
