My Secret Complusion and Addiction

When Technology Changes I am Changing With It

My Secret Complusion and Addiction

I have an addiction and it’s not a cheap addiction. It all started in 1997 when mobile phones became popular in the main stream public. I had purchased the Motorola Microtac. And wow it was such a cool thing and the phone was huge, but none the less I felt so cool to have a mobile phone and at a young age.

At the time, the biggest competitors were Nokia and Microsoft. I’m talking about in 1997 beyond that there were other competitors that were only used for businesses local and internationally.

Ok back to 1997 and my addiction....I purchased my mobile phone. It became a love that I didn’t know would turn into a compulsion addiction I couldn’t control. After the Microsoft phone I purchased and switched to Nokia. The Nokia 3310 was the hottest on the market for a personal mobile phone and I wanted it so bad. I got it than the Nokia 5110 came out a year later. But at this time there were pagers the two way pagers that music artist made famous but this isn't related. Now time passed on, it’s now the year 2000 when the mobile phone became the cell phone. Now the cell phone has gone Hollywood and everyone and their grandma had to have one.

2001-2003 Samsung and LG came out with nice sleek flip phones and I wanted it but I didn’t know which one I wanted. Throughout the years I went from Samsung and LG. It was so cute and girly almost perfect for my small hands. I was no business woman I just loved technology. My obsession turned bad. I became the queen of phones. I always had the newest phone and this was when mobile carrier companies had upgrades every two years. I couldn’t wait to get the new phone and I would die when I couldn’t get my hands on the newest technology. I do remember when iPhone came out with their newest phone and I was not interested I never and still to this day don’t like apple products. My own prerogatives so don’t judge me, but I am android since day one. Don’t get me wrong I have tried apple produts and I am can’t get used to them the whole system is just dumb. I repeat my own judgement not speaking from the die-hard apple users.

I chose Samsung. I bought the Samsung 65218 A107 by AT&T. Upgraded to the Samsung SCH-A360 by AT&T before the mobile phone came with any type of camera. I upgraded to the beautiful new flip phone from LG VX 8300 64 by Verizon. At this point I was upgrading every two years, oh how I am spoiled. I will apologize now if I can’t remember all the names of the phones I have owned. I will list all the phones below and I am still very much addicted to cell phones. And now that I am with T-Mobile I can upgrade my phone every 6 months, I know it’s crazy but hey I have to have the newest technology until technology lets us down as it has, but that is alright. All the phones I have purchased were from AT&T, Verizon whom I was with 10 years before I was convinced to switch to cheap ass Sprint the worst service ever, especially because I came from an amazing service carrier I could get service in an elevator and down to a basement no company can do that. Verizon was the best but was really expensive; I felt it was worth it. Anyway, then from cheap Sprint I went to T-Mobile and I have been a customer of T-Mobile for 5 years now.

Now for the listings of all the cell phones:

LG Flip VX9100 Maroon by Verizon, LG Envy by Verizon, LG EnV VX9900 by Verizon, Samsung A670 with Camera by Verizon, Motorola RAZR by Verizon, Samsung SCH-u410 with camera by Verizon , HTC Desire Z by sprint, blackberry Curve 3G 9300 by sprint, Samsung galaxy 2 by sprint, Samsung galaxy 3 by T-Mobile, Samsung galaxy s4 by T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy s5 by T-Mobile, Samsung Note 3 by T-Mobile, Samsung Note 4 by T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy s6 by T-Mobile, LG G3 by T-Mobile, LG G4 by T-Mobile, Samsung Note 5 By T-Mobile.

There are probably more phones but these were the only ones that I could remember. I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 at this time and I so desperately wanted to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and trust me when I say I tried to pre order the phone but every time I called the lines were busy. I then finally got a customer representative on the line to order my phone when I got cut off by accident I am sure of. I hung up and decided it wasn’t meant to be. When about 2 week later all the note 7’s were recalled because two people that I know of got seriously burnt by the phone. I am currently researching the LG V10 and the LG V20 which is very expensive for an LG phone. So far the reviews have not won me over but I am seriously tired of spending so much on a phone and the companies who come out with new technology every year. Unfortunetly everytime they add something amazing another awesome feature is taken out.

I am currently debating if it’s really worth changing my awesome phone. I can admit that I am finally happy, content, and at ease with my Samsung Galaxy Note 5. I wanted to upgrade my Note 5 32 GB for the Note 5 64 GB but T-Mobile told me that I can’t do that. Not happy I actually considered going back to Verizon, I have been doing my research and investigating. Team T-Mobile for now but who knows what will come next.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
